More about Volunteering...

You do not need to be an expert at trail constructionn to help out on a project. There are many tasks that require only a willingness to learn and work with others.  We try to incorporate all willing volunteers no matter what skill level.  Both skilled and unskilled construction volunteers are welcome!

  • Skilled construction volunteers can provide leadership, professional expertise, and that extra "expert advice".  We especially need people who are willing to lead teams of unskilled volunteers during the work parties.
  • Unskilled trail volunteers are needed that are flexible, hardworking, self-motivated and willing to help in all phases of build process with tasks they are comfortable with.

Every morning at sign-in area or on-site, our project volunteer lead will outline tasks to be done that day, and, with the help of skilled volunteers, teach everyone how to do those tasks.  We will be working on different tasks each day, depending on what stage the process is in or if focus is new construction or maintenance.  We're glad when volunteers are able to work the full time (typically 9am to 3pm) but understand not all can dedicate that amount of time to help building/maintaining trails, so if you need to leave early please let the project leader know ahead of time so tasks can be managed based on available resources.  In return for your time, we promise that you'll have a lot of fun, meet some great people, learn about best practices for sustainable trail construction, and feel good about the time spent increasing trail miles or maintaining existing trails.
