Westside Trail Federation had a booth at the inaugural Pedal Nation Portland Bike Show hosted at Oregon Convention Center (April 10th/11th). Our group setup a booth to showcase status of main projects (proposed DH network in Tillamook State Forest and a freeride skill area at Stub Stewart State Park).
There's just something about the idea of being able to reserve/rent a custom built machine to use for building mountain biking specific trails that seems SO right! Westside Trail Federation sent a letter of support to Northwest Trail Alliance (NWTA) for their RTP grant application filed this month.

In spite of downpour part of day at Black Rock which turned upper forest roads on Mt Brown to mud pits (the BRMBA constructed trails on other hand drained exceptionally well and held up under constant pounding of riders), the October 17th fundraiser shuttle day by Westside Trail Federation created lots of muddy smiles... Riders made the best of it with great attitudes and W.T.F. volunteers, used to getting it done no matter what, shifted gears on the fly to figure out how to keep running trucks in the muck - the small nimble 16' stakebed truck could run to top of mountain while the other two could do shorter runs 3/4 up the mountain.
Here's a highlight video by Jason Van Horn (thanks Jason!) with that is good overview of the riding conditions during event --
Thank you to all participants and volunteers who helped make this event a success! There were about 145 participants. Not sure what the average number of runs riders got in but Sittingduck posted to message forum that he'd done 8 runs. That's not a bad days riding at Black Rock!
Check the General messageboard on westsidetrailfederation.org for additional comments and links to photos people are sharing from the event. Be sure to let us know your thoughts!
Transition Bike Company and One Ghost Industries (sharing space under Keen Footwear canopy at event) were both stoked to be there to support event - and generating interest in their products was simply a bonus.
"Everyone loved the bikes and were speechless with huge smiles when they brought them back!" - David with OGI

Could this be THE same Double captured in? Hmmmm... I'd put money on that! And, it appears to have the magical feature of being completely resistant to mud.
